Money in bullion van claim: I have not apologised to anyone – Abronye DC

The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Baffoe widely known as Abronye DC has clarified that his statement that money in the bullion van allegation against President Mahama was just semantics is not an apology to anyone.

Abronye admitted that his claim that the money in the bullion van was just semantics but his position that the Mahama led NDC government has squandered GHC550 million from the mass dismissal remains unchanged.

According to him, until the government gives proper accountability of the said money, he will continue to question the whereabouts of the GHC550 million.

“I say anything that is all and if I rectify the issue, I rectify the issue. I have not apologised to anyone, I have not apologised to anyone if they want they can jail me. Listen, if we are saying something we use semantics, if a committee is responsible for finances it doesn’t mean we have packed money at K.K’s house or President Mahama’s house to spend it but the whereabouts of the money is questionable.” Abronye stated on Wontumi Radio.

Adding that “So I used semantics, my comment that there was money in a bullion van was just semantics. And it doesn’t mean President Mahama has packed money at his house. It is semantics but anyone who knows what I am talking about knows.”

Abronye admitted that he goofed for publishing the invitation letter from National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) and has since apologised to them.

“Where I found myself guilty is the publication of the NIB letter because ethically it is wrong. Because it was written at the bottom as confidential so I apologised to them. Because all their letters are confidential and ethically it is wrong because some of their cases are not supposed to go viral. So I have not apologised to anybody. Those people who are publishing fake stories about me should come and arrest me and send me to jail.” He stated.
