Ghanaian musician, rapper and record producer, Kwame Ametepee Tsikata, also known as M.anifest, has stated that one can go to school for music but can not produce good music.
He said no matter the years one can spend in school for music it does not guarantee you the to make incredible music you can only get the understanding or the ability to mimic.
According to him, the best way is not to be connected and aligned.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz Daybreak show monitored by Elvisanokyenews.net, M.anifest indicated that he has to be connected in order to come out with powerful songs.
“I have to be connected, I have to be aligned internally and spiritually because music is not something you can joke with. You can go to school for music forever, it doesn’t guarantee you inspiration, it doesn’t guarantee you the ability to make incredible music. It guarantees you the understanding or the ability to mimic what’s great. But if you’re not aligned, you can’t, it’s not possible,” He stated.
Adding that his main secret in producing great music and achieving greater things in the industry is innovation.
According to the 2017 Best Rapper and Hip-Hop song of the year, all the musicians he knows build their achievements on innovation. M.anifest mentioned Jamaican singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Robert Nesta Marley widely known as Bob Marley who was considered as one of the pioneers of reggae, Reggis Rockstone, Lord Kenya and others.
“Sometimes you need to do things that make you feel happy……..Adding many things give you the solid outcome you are expecting so innovation is what I believe…..That is what leads me in my activities, the people I follow are innovative. Bob Marley was innovative that is why he was able to change the whole landscape of reggae. In Ghana, we have Reggie Rockstone, Obrafour , Lord Kenya etc. And let’s give credit to the producers.” He stated.
“So innovation is something you can’t escape.”
