The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso Constituency, Stephen Amoah also known as Sticka has proposed for dissolution of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the NDC can not defined who they are and what they stand for and has not been able to implemented any pro-poor policies in our country.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Sticka stated that the NDC can not manage the economic indicators but only build their arguments on propaganda.
“Sometimes I want to ask you and nobody wants to tell me that you are truly a social democrat? Or capitalistic in nature? Because you can’t do pro-poor policies. You can’t manage the economic indicators, so what are you? I want to know. Just like Peter asked Jesus, who are you? Are you socialistic or we don’t know. You are always doing propaganda. Only liars and deception.” The NPP MP stated,
“…..The fact is NDC has to be dissolved, it is not about numbers because we are talking about quality numbers. See our numbers are small but quality. Quality Mighty Minority.” He said.
The lawmaker added that despite their failure to implement social interventions, the NDC opposed all the flagship policies and social interventions that helped the needy.
He made mention of National Health insurance and Free SHS which later, the NDC claimed they started the policies.
“Mr. Speaker, name all the pro-poor policies in our country both in kind and cash, any pro-poor policy of national intensity and international reputation, you can not dig your hands in it. Even in this very August house, when we were passing national health insurance, you ran away. Only for you to come back and say you started it…….Everyday is about propaganda. When we brought free SHS, you kicked against it, you spoke against it, you insulted us, when you realized that Ghanaians have welcomed the policy you turned around and said we wanted to do it incrementally.” Sticka indicated.
