GPL: Give beautiful Universities female students free entry to attract more supporters to studiums – Kojo Opoku proposes

Former Asante Kotoko striker, Kojo Poku has proposed a solution to poor stadium attendance during Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches.

According to him, the love for local matches is gone, that is why stadiums are empty during Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches especially Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi so the best way to get the supporters back to the stadium so to give beautiful Universities female students free entry to attract the guys.

“The last time when I went to the stadium it was empty so I told someone that it is better they go to KNUST and other Universities and give the beautiful female students Kotoko jerseys and ask them to go and occupy the stadium. It will attract the male supporters to go to the stadium.” Kojo Opoku Mahala told Tony Montana on Kessben TV.

He also attributed poor attendance to low attention and discussion of the local teams as compared to foreign games and Black Stars.

He believes the enthusiasm people were using to market the local teams during their time is not the same as today.

“The current local prayers are not popular like our time, when I came I was walking with Nii Baah and we met someone and he greeted so I asked him (Nii Baah) who is this and he said he plays for Kotoko, this is the guy who asked supporters to stand up when he was shooting penalty and I said yes, I watched the video. I don’t know any of them.” Kojo Opoku

“I don’t hear Kotoko players’ names like before, the only players I heard were Baba Yahaya and Kwaku Opoku because we market the foreign sports and Black Stars more. It is not like the previous days how Kotoko was being advertised. At our time people loved Kotoko, even tickets were sold out around 9:am during the Kotoko and Hearts of Oak match” He lamented.
