Ghanaian gospel singer Brother Sammy has questioned the double stands of some Ghanaian Christian women who defy their Christianity principles when they travel abroad.
Brother Sammy said, some Christian women strongly preach against the wearing of trousers in Ghana but when they go abroad, they wear it in situations he described as hypocrisy.
It is written in Deuteronomy 22:5 that “he woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abominations unto the LORD thy God.”
Some Christian women are forbidden to wear trousers because of this Bible verse in Ghana but when they travel abroad they wear them citing weather conditions abroad.
Reacting to this, Broda Sammy said it is a hypocritical attitude in the Christianity.
“This is hypocrisy, you preach against women wearing trousers but when you travel abroad you will wear it. Christianity is no longer attractive to people because of this attitude on the part of some Christians” Brother Sammy said this in an interview with Akoto Mansa on Asetena Pa show.
Brother Sammy in recent times has made some controversial comments about Christianity including betting, lotto and piecing.
According to him, the leaders of Christianity are hiding the truth and reality which he believes discourages others after they discover the truth.
“When a Pastor’s child wins the American lottery the pastor will say go but when an unbeliever wins the same American lottery, the pastor will say wait and let’s pray over it before. Why don’t we tell them the truth? Are the lottery not the same? So when they (unbelievers) come to church and later they discover the truth then they stop.” Brother Sammy said on UTV.
