Ghanaian actress, writer, and producer, Lydia Forson says it is sad for people to say that the Ghanaian movie industry is dead.
She said many people have different opinions about the current state of the industry and creticisse based on what they see and expect but to say the industry is dead pained her a lot.
According to her, there is no way the industry can be revived as people are expecting if they don’t support it.
“What I will say is that people used to ask where the Industry is? The world I hate most is to say the industry is dead. It pains me when I hear people saying that because the industry is not just a movie. The television show and news you are watching, everything is part of the industry, but if it collapses what must we do? We have to support and so I expect people to come and support if they want the industry to be revived.” Lydia Forson said on a UTV entertainment show dubbed United Showbiz monitored by Elvisanokyenews.net.
The 2010 Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role winner indicated that the expectations are high and as a growing industry, they can not make it without massive support.
“Most of the time people are just criticizing and saying negative things about the industry but the person has not watched any movie. You have to support it so that we can also get the energy to do more. We can’t always get it right and we are still a growing industry but we can not grow without support.” She stressed.
“So I am expecting everybody on Friday ‘Last Stop’ with all of these stars, in fact, many people sacrificed to make this movie happen. It is not easy to pay big actors so everybody should come and support to encourage the Directors and Producers to do more.” Lydia Forson appealed.
