Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has urged the Black Stars players to prioritise the national team and put in some commitment to qualify for the World Cup.
Addressing the players ahead of their game against Madagascar, Baby jet stated that the players should forget about their club’s instructions and work hard to reach the target.
According to him, Ghana stands a chance to qualify for the World Cup if the players put in small efforts.
“We have points ahead of all the countries in the group so this is an opportunity for us. You have to put everything aside, this is the psychological part of the game because when I was playing I set my mind on something and worked towards it. It doesn’t matter wherever you play, sometimes you can come and your clubs will tell you to be careful, you have to do this, you have to do that but when you are going to the World Cup, it is the topmost priority.” He said.
He indicated that Ghanaians have confidence in the players so they should give their best for the county.
“Everybody has confidence in you guys but the reason why we are here is just to push you to make sure we get there. Make sure we don’t concede, that all, if we don’t concede, is 1 point, if we win is three (3) points and we are there and then everybody can ease the pressure, let’s forget about the club, this is the World cup.” Asamoah Gyan stated.
“We have about three games to play guys, I am looking at the psychological part, let’s go hundred percent (100%). ‘I want Ghanaians to see you guys heckling and fighting for every ball and the results will come by itself. Please, that is what I want from you guys, the talent and everything is there but with just small commitment, you will get there.” He added.
