Private Legal Practitioner, Kwasi Kwarteng has exposed the Minister of Government Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu claiming that Luanda Airport in Angola does not have a certificate to carry out the sort of requirements that the plane has to meet before entering the European Union market.
Addressing the public, the Member of Parliament for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese claimed that Luanda does not meet scanning and screening RA3 procedure which is the requirement to enter the EU market.
“Specific requirements are needed before any plane can enter the EU, now this plane originated from Luanda, Angola. Now Luanda does not have the certificate to carry out the sort of requirements that this plane has to meet before entering the EU market. Now the specific requirement is a scanning and screening RA3 procedure which is the requirement to enter the EU market, Luanda doesn’t have it.” He claimed.
But in a post on X, Kwasi Kwarteng stated that Luanda obtained RA3 certification following an audit conducted between October 9 and 11, 2024.
He said Felix Kwakye Ofosu’s claim is false.
“The claim by Felix Kwakye Ofosu that Luanda Airport in Angola lacks RA3 certification is false. The Air Cargo Terminal at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport in Luanda obtained RA3 certification following an audit conducted between October 9 and 11, 2024.” He stated.
“This certification is crucial for air cargo terminals outside the European Union, as it confirms that their operations comply with international safety and quality standards. The certification was officially granted on December 19, 2023, authorizing the airport to commence cargo operations.” He added.
Meanwhile, another document has surfaced online to prove that Luanda obtained RA3 certification to meet international safety and quality standards.
“The AIAAN Air Cargo Terminal obtained RA3 certification, a crucial recognition for Air Cargo Terminal from countries outside the European Union, ensuring that operations meet international safety and quality standards.” The document said.
