PDASG Debunks Slanderous Claims, Lists Six Years of Verifiable Achievements in Ogun State

Abeokuta, Ogun State In response to a recent politically motivated publication by one Wale Adegbola titled “Dapo Abiodun: The Nero Fiddling While Rome Burns”, the Prince Dapo Abiodun Support Group (PDASG) has issued a comprehensive statement correcting the record and presenting verified achievements of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration over the last six years.

According to PDASG, the publication is “littered with baseless accusations, personal attacks, and conspiracy theories” and represents “a desperate attempt to smear a focused and performance-driven administration.”

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

Educational Background and Leadership Competence Contrary to unfounded claims, Prince Dapo Abiodun studied at the University of Ife (now OAU) and furthered his education in the United States. Before assuming office, he served as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and OGSOPADEC. He has never been convicted of any crime in Nigeria or abroad.

UNPRECEDENTED INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

Over 500 kilometers of roads have been constructed or rehabilitated across all three senatorial districts:
•Ijebu Ode–Epe Expressway (fully dualized and completed)
•Sagamu Interchange–Abeokuta Road
•Atan–Agbara Industrial Road
•Ilaro–Owode, Ota–Sango Roads, and numerous urban roads under OGROMA. These projects enhance economic activity, safety, and inter-regional connectivity.

AGRO-CARGO AIRPORT: A LEGACY IN MOTION

The Ilishan-Remo Agro-Cargo Airport, described by stakeholders as a game changer for logistics and agribusiness, recently completed test flights and is nearing operational readiness. It has been officially designated a Special Economic Zone by the Federal Government. The airport is delivered through a transparent Public-Private Partnership and is set to transform Ogun into a regional export hub.

EDUCATION & TECH EMPOWERMENT

Governor Abiodun has revitalized over 956 public schools, recruited over 2,000 teachers via OG-TEACh, and introduced Tech Hubs in Abeokuta and Ijebu-Ode.

Despite political spin, the Federal Government’s adoption of TASUED is a major win for Ogun education. Assertions that the governor once moved to scrap the university are false and unsubstantiated by any policy document or committee report.

ECONOMIC GROWTH & INDUSTRIALIZATION

Ogun ranks Top 5 in IGR among Nigerian states (NBS 2023), and over 500 new industries have set up under the current administration.

With the digitization of land processing (OLARMS) and a revamped tax administration system, Ogun has become a top destination for investment, according to the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

PRIMARY HEALTHCARE & SOCIAL WELFARE

Over 200 Primary Healthcare Centres have been revitalized. The ARAYA Health Insurance Scheme and mobile health outreach (Health Bus) ensure access to quality healthcare, especially in underserved rural communities.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT & MSME SUPPORT

Through OGSEDA, over 50,000 youths and women-led businesses have accessed funding, training, and market linkages.

2023 ELECTION: TRANSPARENT, VALIDATED, LEGAL

Governor Abiodun won the 2023 elections with a legal and constitutional mandate. The Election Tribunal and Appeal Court upheld the result. Allegations of vote buying, server hacking, and foreign fraud are unfounded, defamatory, and dismissed as political propaganda.

Similarly, the recycled and debunked claim of a credit card fraud case in the U.S. has no basis in public or legal records. No alias (Shawn Michael Davids or otherwise) has ever been legally associated with the governor.

POLITICAL MATURITY OVER PETTINESS

The governor continues to maintain professional relations with all political stakeholders, including Senator Solomon Adeola (YAYI), contrary to divisive speculations.

CONCLUSION: RESULTS, NOT RAZZMATAZZ

PDASG asserts that Prince Dapo Abiodun’s government is result-driven, transparent, and inclusive — not one for razzmatazz or theatrics. His administration remains focused on delivering sustainable development, empowering citizens, and building a resilient Ogun State.

“Let those who seek leadership do so with vision and facts, not propaganda and WhatsApp gossip,” PDASG concluded.
