“Put God first and use your talents”: Methodist Guild leader to youth

The USA National Vice President of the Methodist Guild and Treasurer of the Ghana Wesley United Methodist Guild in Brooklyn, Mr. Alex Kwesi Owoahene Acheampong, has urged the youth to shift their focus from waiting on government employment and rather embrace innovation and self-initiative.

Mr. Acheacmpong explained that hard work and creativity are the keys to personal and national development. According to him, success does not come to those who remain idle or rely solely on external support.

“I urge the youth to be hardworking. Anyone who refuses to work is lazy and will not thrive in life. Young people must make a conscious effort to find work and stop making excuses that there are no jobs in the country,” he stated.

Mr. Alex Kwesi Owoahene Acheampong made this assertion when he led a team from the Ghana Wesley United Methodist Guild, Brooklyn, to settle outstanding hospital bills totaling GHC10,296.00 for some patients at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.

He further encouraged the youth to utilize their talents and skills, no matter how small, as a source of income and a path to self-reliance. He also advised them to be prayerful and to involve God in all their endeavors in order to build successful businesses.

He, however, urged the youth to be content with what they have and to refrain from engaging in any activities that could get them into trouble in the name of seeking income.

“As youth, we should be innovative and find something to do with our hands that can serve as a source of income. However, I advise them not to be greedy. They should be content with what they have and commit whatever work they do to God, and He will bless the fruit of their labor.” He stated
