Twafohene of Wenchi Traditional Area urges youth to reject hard drugs for a brighter future

The Twafohene of the Wenchi Traditional Area, Nana Akoratua Twum Kyeremeh Siasaa Kuffour, has urged the youth to steer clear of hard drugs and alcohol.

According to him, the use of hard drugs and alcohol has a damaging impact on the lifestyle of those who abuse it and can subsequently destroy their future.

Nana Akoratua Twum Kyeremeh Siasaa Kuffour made this assertion when speaking to the media in the wake of the just ended Easter celebrations, he expressed concern over the changing lifestyles of the youth today compared to previous generations. He explained that during their youth, they spent much of their time in church and stayed away from harmful influence.

He acknowledged the curiosity and desire among young people to explore the world but cautioned them to do so with restraint and wisdom.

“When we were growing up, things were not as they are today. We spent most of our youthful days in church. However, that is not the case nowadays, mainly due to the influence of hard drugs.

“As we have just celebrated the Easter festivities, I want to urge the youth to desist from any activity that could destroy their future, especially the use of hard drugs and alcohol. I understand that, as youth, they may want to explore the world around them, but they should be measured in their actions. He stated

He explained the long-term consequences of substance abuse on both physical and mental health, warning that such habits could irreversibly undermine the potential of the younger generation. He seized the occasion to urge the youth to dedicate their energies toward meaningful and productive activities that will ensure a prosperous and fulfilling future

“A time will come when they will not even have the strength to walk, so I encourage them to use their youthful years productively and lay a strong foundation for a better future. If they get involved with drugs and alcohol, it will weaken them physically and mentally, and this will have a long-term negative effect on their lives.

“My advice to the youth is to stay away from drugs and engage in meaningful and productive activities for a brighter tomorrow. Nana stated.
