Brong Ahafo Presbytery Chairperson urges youth to shun hard drugs

The Presbytery Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery, Rev. Benjamin Appiah, has issued a passionate call to the youth to abstain from the use of hard drugs, warning of the devastating consequences such substances have on their future.

Speaking during the Easter season, Rev. Appiah called on Christians to actively join the fight against drug abuse, emphasizing the need for collective action to combat its growing impact among the youth. He also urged Christian leaders to use their platforms to promote awareness and education on the issue.

He noted that drug abuse is a growing challenge that threatens to derail the lives and potential of many young people across the country, and he encouraged Christians to take up the responsibility of advocacy and education.

“I will strongly advise the youth against the intake of hard drugs. These hard drugs are destroying our youth, and we should all come on board in fighting against such behavior.”

“As Christians, we have to use our platforms to preach against the intake of hard substances. As we mark the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we should go out and educate the youth on the consequences of these hard substances. We should let them know that these drugs are stealing their future from them.”

The Presbytery Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery challenged the youth in the erstwhile Brong Ahafo Region and Ghana at large to engage in activities that will build their capacities for a brighter rather on relying on hard drugs and alcohol.
