Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Techiman North, has expressed confidence that the ongoing chieftaincy issues in Tuobodom will be resolved soon.
He explained that the Techiman North District Assembly is fully committed to ensuring peace and stability in Tuobodom and the entire district.
Hon. Adom Johnson acknowledged the recent disturbances in Tuobodom but was quick to reassure the public of the Assembly’s dedication to restoring harmony. He further revealed that with the support of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), fruitful dialogue has already begun with the parties involved in the dispute.
He made this assertion during his visit to the Techiman Traditional Council
“It is quite unfortunate that we recently recorded some disturbances in Tuobodom. I fully condemn such practices, but thanks be to God, there were no casualties and that is something we can take solace from.
“As the Head of the Security Council, I want to assure you that we will work toward finding a lasting solution to the chieftaincy issue in Tuobodom. All members of the Security Council are fully committed to ensuring peace, not only in Tuobodom but in Techiman at large.
“With the help of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), we have already initiated fruitful dialogue with the parties involved in the Tuobodom chieftaincy matter. It is a process, not an event, but I am confident that with constant and constructive dialogue, we will achieve lasting peace in Tuobodom.” He said
Hon. Adom Johnson explained that both parties involved in the dispute desire peace, and he is confident that the matter will be resolved soon.
According to him, Tuobodom is the district capital of Techiman North, and a peaceful environment there will contribute to the overall development of the district.
“The good news, according to the DCE, is that both parties involved desire peace, a crucial step toward resolving the dispute. “Tuobodom is our district capital, and a peaceful environment there will lead to the overall development of Techiman North. We are fully committed to ensuring that peace prevails in Tuobodom.” He said
On behalf of the Techiman Traditional Council, Nana Takyi Fri, Techiman Nkrontihene, expressed strong support for the DCE’s efforts. He also urged Hon. Adom Johnson to maintain close consultation with the Traditional Council to help resolve the issue quickly and smoothly.
“We know that during your tenure, you will be able to solve the issues at Tuobodom. We, the Techiman Traditional Council, believe that you can do it because, within the short time you have served as MCE, we have already seen the efforts you have made. We are fully behind you.
“May God grant you long life and good health to serve the people of Techiman effectively. Consult the Traditional Council whenever the need arises, and I can assure you that if you involve the Techiman Traditional Council in discharging your duties, you will be successful.” Nana Takyi Fri said.
