The Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, has once again demonstrated his commitment to education by donating over 5,000 mathematical sets to the Techiman South Municipal Education Directorate for onward distribution to this year’s BECE candidates across the constituency.
As part of the donation, 523 mathematical sets were presented directly to candidates in six selected schools within the municipality. The remaining supplies will be distributed to all candidates in both public and private schools ahead of the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination scheduled to begin on June 11.
The presentation was made on behalf of the MP by the Techiman South NPP Constituency Chairman, Mr. Muniru Tanko.
In an interview with the media, Chairman Muniru disclosed that the donation was part of Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah’s efforts to show support and motivate the candidates as they prepare for their examinations.
“This is something our Member of Parliament, Hon. Kwaku Adjei-Mensah Korsah, does annually. He consistently donates mathematical sets to all BECE candidates in his constituency. We are here today on behalf of our MP to present these mathematical sets to the Education Directorate, who will distribute them to the students.
“There are over 5,000 mathematical sets, and Hon. Martin is donating not only to public schools, but also to all BECE candidates in private schools across the Techiman South constituency.
“This donation is intended to motivate the candidates. It is a message that their Member of Parliament is fully behind them as they prepare for this important academic milestone. Hon. Martin asked us to remind the candidates that he believes in their abilities and is confident they will all pass with flying colors.” He stated.
Speaking on behalf of Hon. Martin and in his own capacity, the Techiman South NPP Chairman urged the students to avoid examination malpractices and to believe in themselves as they sit for the exams.
“Hon. Martin also advises the candidates to avoid all forms of examination malpractice. They should trust in what they have been taught, believe in themselves, and follow all the rules of the examination.” He said.
Receiving the donation, the Techiman South Municipal Education Director, Pastor Isaac Amankwah, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Education Directorate, school heads, and students.
“On behalf of the learners and all the schools in the municipality, I say a very big thank you to our Honorable Member of Parliament for his generosity. God willing, the BECE will begin on June 11, and as an Education Directorate, we are confident the candidates will perform well.
“The teachers have done their part in preparing the students. With support from the PTA, we organized a mock examination to assess the candidates. Additionally, the Directorate held a workshop facilitated by experienced WAEC examiners to educate the students on effective exam techniques. We are confident that the candidates are well-prepared.
Pastor Amankwah encouraged students to be confident, stressing that the BECE is no different from the mock exams they have already taken
“There are over 5,000 candidates set to take the exam, and I want to encourage them to believe in themselves. They should understand that the BECE is no different from the mock exams they have already written. With confidence and determination, they will succeed.”
