Consider continuing the creative art school project – Agya Koo appeals to Mahama

 

Renowned Ghanaian actor Kofi Adu popularly known as Agya Koo has passionately appealed to President John Dramani and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to consider continuing the construction of the Creative Arts School in Kwadaso in the Ashanti region.

Agya Koo believes that arts and culture play a vital role in nation building hence the need for the President to complete the institution aimed at training Ghanaians in that space.

The Creative Arts School was initiated by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to improve the growth in the creative arts space. Work on the Creative Arts Senior High School project commenced in 2019.

The Creative Arts School project will contain an administration block, a 750-capacity girls’ dormitory, a 500-capacity boys’ dormitory, classroom blocks, a studio laboratory and twelve laboratories when completed.

According to the CEO of Tetemofra show, the projects have the potential to promote Ghana’s cultural heritage and support local artists.

“Hello Mr. President John Mahama, I am writing to express my appreciation for the importance of arts and culture in Ghana’s development. As an Actor and musician, I humbly request that you consider continuing the creative art buildings initiated by the previous administration led by @NAkufoAddo.” Agya Koo posted on X.

“These projects have the potential to promote Ghana’s cultural heritage, support local artists. let’s help keep Ghana’s creative spirit alive. Thank you” He added.

Prior to the 2024 elections, the legendary actor was seen in a video promoting the project.

As an actor and musician, Agya Koo is optimistic that the Creative Arts School can help discover more talented people and eventually boost the economy.

Addressing the nation on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 the former president stated that the project was about 70% complete.
