24-hour Economy Policy holds the key to Ghana’s economic transformation – Okyeame Kofi Adu

The North America Director of the Institute of Good Governance, Hon. Okyeame Kofi Adu, says the 24-hour economy policy introduced by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 campaign season played a crucial role in securing the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections.

According to him, the introduction of the 24-hour economy policy was a bold and transformative game changer capable of addressing some of Ghana’s most pressing economic challenges.

Hon. Okyeame Kofi Adu disclosed that the policy has the potential to drive significant improvements in industrialization, manufacturing, agriculture, and agribusiness.

“The 24hrs economy policy and it’s modules will go a long way to tackle numerous challenges facing Ghana’s economy, in terms of industrialization, Manufacturing, agriculture and agribusiness, and also boast exportation. Okyeame stated.
Youths Unemployment will be taken care of, revamp international business environments.” He said.

The Institute of Good Governance have been invited to contribute expert input to the development and expansion of the policy, particularly in the area of export growth and international competitiveness.

He further stated that the 24-hour economy would give Ghanaian manufacturing companies a much-needed facelift, with tax incentives designed to boost local production.

“The Ghanaian manufacturing companies will see new facelift with tax incentives to boast production to meet the demand of people, sister countries in the business space”. He said.

The North America Director of the Institute of Good Governance also explained that the policy would revamp Ghana’s international business environment, offering a more attractive landscape for investors and multinational companies.

He seized the occasion to call for cross-sector collaboration, urging all stakeholders—both public and private—to support the full implementation of the 24-hour economy agenda in order to help Ghana unlock its full economic potential.
