The Twimeahene of the Techiman Traditional Area and Sanaahene of the Techiman Traditional Council, Nana Ankama Frimpong, has urged all members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and residents of Techiman to support the newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive (Mayor) for Techiman South, Hon. Kwaku Adjei-Mensah.
Addressing the media following the Mayor’s official visit to the Techiman Traditional Council, Nana Ankama Frimpong called for unity among the party’s rank and file, particularly those who contested for the position of Mayor, and advised against undue political pressure on the new appointee.
“I urge all those who contested for the position of Mayor to throw their support behind Hon. Kwaku Adjei-Mensah. I believe the other two finalists also have unique ideas on how best to govern Techiman South, and they should offer their support to the Mayor.” He said.
The Techiman Sanaahene took the opportunity advise the people of Techiman, especially members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to refrain from using the newly appointed Mayor’s office for personal gain.
According to him, Hon. Kwaku Adjei-Mensah’s primary duty is to serve the entire community, not to meet personal demands disguised as political affiliation. He urged residents to respect the purpose and integrity of the Mayor’s role.
“I would also like to advise the people of Techiman, especially members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), not to turn the Mayor’s office into a charity home. The Mayor has been appointed to serve the overall interest of Techiman, so no one should approach his office seeking money for personal interests under the guise of being NDC members,” Nana Ankama Frimpong stated.
He continued, “Hon. Kwaku Adjei-Mensah will need a peaceful and focused mind to develop Techiman, and we all have a collective responsibility to ensure he gets the peace he needs to carry out his duties effectively. Let us reduce unnecessary visits to his office for personal gains.”
