Abosomankotere Co-operative Credit Union has announced its ambitious plan to fully digitalize its operations from 2025 and beyond. This according to the C.E.O of the Credit Union is to make banking more accessible and convenient for its members and the broader community.
Speaking at the Union’s recent Annual General Meeting, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Prosper Aforbu, explained the need for the Credit Union to align with the global shift towards digitalization.
He explained that the world has moved into a digital age and stressed the importance of the Union adapting in order not to be left behind.
“The world has now moved into the digital age, and everything has been digitalized. Our main aim is to go fully digital from 2025 and beyond. We believe that there are many people, especially the youth, who are not saving or working with any financial institution because they prefer not to visit banking halls.
”They would rather stay in the comfort of their homes and offices to conduct their banking transactions. Therefore, Abosomankotere Co-operative Credit Union has put several measures in place to ensure we go fully digital soon, making the banking experience more comfortable for our customers.” He said.
He reiterated that the Union’s broader mission is to support the financial stability of its customers and help them achieve their dreams through modern, flexible banking solutions.
“At Abosomankotere Co-operative Credit Union, our goal is to help our customers and potential customers become financially stable and achieve their dreams.” Mr. Aforbu disclosed.
The newly elected Board Chair, Mr. Thomas Ansu Effah, pledged to complement the digital drive with a strong focus on education.
”At Abosomankotere Co-operative Credit Union, we have an Education Committee, and I will ensure that they are provided with the necessary resources to intensify their efforts in educating not only our current members but also potential customers. We aim to help them understand how best to incorporate digitalization into their operations to achieve better results.” He said.
He stated that the new Board, under his tenure, will periodically visit members at their workplaces to offer support and advice to help them grow their businesses.
