The Electoral Commission of Ghana has officially confirmed the release of funds by the Ministry of Finance for the payment of allowances owed to its temporary staff.
In a letter dated Thursday, 12th June 2025, and signed by the Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa, the Commission announced that all necessary financial arrangements have been made to ensure that payments are disbursed promptly.
The communication, addressed to all temporary staff of the Commission, conveyed appreciation for their patience and assured them that their long-awaited allowances would be received by Friday, 20th June 2025 at the latest.
“We are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Finance has today, Thursday, 12th of June, 2025, released funds for the payment of Temporary Staff,” the statement read.
“The Commission is working round the clock to ensure that payments are made promptly.”
The announcement comes as a relief to hundreds of temporary workers who served in various capacities during the Commission’s electoral operations and have been awaiting compensation.
Mrs. Jean Mensa further disclosed that the Commission is committed to maintaining transparency and efficiency in handling staff welfare and financial obligations. The release of the funds and the assurance of timely disbursement signal the Commission’s intent to uphold trust and operational readiness in the lead-up to future electoral events.
