The Founder and Overseer of Builders Christian Church International (Nyame Tease), Bishop Prophet Thomas Yeboah Afari, has urged fathers to raise their children with a balance of love and discipline.
Speaking during a Father’s Day service, he urged all men not to lose faith in their responsibilities as heads of their families, despite the challenges they may face. He explained the need for fathers to regularly evaluate their roles and actions in the home to ensure they are building a lasting and positive legacy.
He further stressed the importance of instilling discipline in children while showing them love and support. According to him, over-pampering children can lead to waywardness, which is a growing concern among the youth today.
“I wish all men a happy Father’s Day and encourage them never to lose faith in the efforts they make for their families. As fathers, we should regularly evaluate how things are being done in our homes. We must strive to leave behind a good legacy, one that will be remembered even when we are no longer here.
“Discipline is essential in fatherhood. Fathers should avoid over-pampering their children. The waywardness of today’s youth should be a concern for every father, because a child’s behavior often reflects on the father.” He said.
Bishop Thomas Yeboah Afari also encouraged fathers to extend their love and care beyond their biological children to all children within their communities
“Being a father does not mean caring only for your biological children. Every child in your community should be your concern. A good father should be able to care for all children around him as though they were his own. That is the true hallmark of fatherhood.” He disclosed
