Ghanaian dancehall musician, Charles Niii Armah Mensah Jnr, also known as Shatta Wale has expressed his displeasure with Okatakyie Mensa Afrifa for criticized President John Dramani Mahama’s son Sharaf Mahama over his recent boxing event dubbed the ‘Battle of the Beasts’.

The boxing event which was held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Bukom Banku arena brought together many dignitaries including boxing star Anthony Joshua.

Anthony Joshua’s presence at the event generated heated arguments and raised questions of Sharaf’s sources of income to organize such an event.

Among those who have publicly criticized the son of President Mahama is a social media commentator Okatakyie Mensa who is affiliated to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

But during Shatta Wale’s recent live session on Facebook blasted Okatakyie Afrifa over his comment.

According to him, Okatakyie Afrifa’s Mensah’s parents didn’t achieve anything in life that is why they could build a good foundation for him.

Shatta Wale said if Okatakyie Afrifa’s mother and father worked hard to achieve something for themselves and the country they could have at least earned some Ministerial appointment to better their lives.

“That boy said Sharaf can’t do this alone, that man his father built a good foundation for him, his father prepared him well. But you didn’t have that opportunity from the foundation. Your parents didn’t have anything, that is why even your father doesn’t have any Ministerial position……..” The On God hitmaker stated.

Adding that President Mahama has built a solid foundation for his son so this event is easy for him to organize.

“People have suffered to build a foundation for their child and you are talking rubbish. The time Mahama was suffering, where were you? You are all nation wreckers. Even the Minister of Gutters and Onion your parents don’t have because they didn’t achieve anything in life.” He fumed.
