Ghanaian comic actor Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, popularly known as Dr. Likee, has also waded into the FBI fraud case saga, saying that the personality involved, Kofi Boat, is a businessman, not a scammer as has been purported.
Aka Ebenezer, sometimes called, was placed on the spot on United Showbiz, an entertainment show on UTV, and was asked whether a town in Kumasi, Breman, is flooded with scammers (game boys) as always heard.
He answered boldly by saying those speculations are false because Breman is a movie hub where most movies from Kumasi are shot. Hence, everyone who tries hard to learn ends up making money no matter his or her age.
“Breman is and was made for movies. I know people who are students, but after school, they capture behind-the-scenes footage of movies being shot there and post them on their YouTube channel to make some money.
Some make even $1,000 monthly from YouTube as students. Hence, when you see this child chilling or living a lavish life, I know one will say he or she is a scammer, which is false,” he revealed.
“You see, you can be framed for something you know nothing about, but even vindicating yourself will be a problem—same as Kofi Boat’s issue “, he added.
Dr. Likee then revealed his relationship with Kofi Boat, who is currently on the verge of being extradited to the U.S. by the FBI for getting involved in a $100M fraud case.
“I have a very good relationship with Kofi Boat, and he’s not a bad person. I am saying this based on the relationship I have with him. He’s also a businessman who has employed over 1,000 Ghanaians. As I said earlier, sometimes you can be framed, and because coincidence happens, there’s nothing you can do. But I am pleading that we should wait till the final verdict to judge,” he concluded.
