Techiman Circuit Methodist Singing Band holds 27th biennial conference at Hansua

The Techiman Circuit Methodist Singing Band has successfully held its 27th biennial conference at the Mount Camel Society in Hansua.

The event, which began on Thursday and climaxed last Sunday, brought together members from across the circuit to reflect on the association’s progress and chart a course for future growth. It also featured a blend of spiritual and social activities, including indoor games, Bible quizzes, and singing competitions aimed at strengthening fellowship among members.

In an interview with the media, the Chaplain of the Techiman Circuit Singing Band, Rev. Frederick Assan, stated that the conference provided a valuable opportunity for the group to reflect on its impact and re-strategize for the future.

“The Singing Band is one of the biggest associations in the Methodist Church. Our duty is to use music to minister the word of God, and the good news is that there is no age barrier to joining. Every member of the Methodist Church can be part of the Singing Band, regardless of age.

“Every two years, we hold a conference to reflect on the progress of the association and discuss how best we can contribute to its growth.” He said.

He further disclosed that the biennial conference also provides an opportunity for members of the association to engage in indoor activities and socialize.

“We also engage in indoor games, Bible quizzes, and singing competitions to socialize. We started this year’s conference last Thursday, and by the grace of God, we have successfully brought it to an end.” He stated.

The conference also witnessed the re-election of the Circuit Singing Band Chairperson, Mrs. Lydia Asamoah, who expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in her. She pledged to work diligently with fellow executives and members to promote the overall growth of the association.

“We are very grateful to God for granting us a successful program. We normally elect new leaders every three years, and I am humbled that members of the association have elected me to continue as the Chairperson for the next term. I wholeheartedly thank the members for the trust they have placed in me.

“I promise not to take their trust for granted. I will work closely with the other executives and members of the Band to ensure the overall growth of the association.” She stated.

She continued, “I pray for God’s guidance and strength as I begin this new tenure, and I hope to establish Singing Bands in Methodist churches within the circuit that currently do not have one.”

On her part, the Assistant Singing Band Chairperson, Hon. Diana Ataa Kusiwaa, called on all members to remain active and committed to the overall goals and objectives of the association.

“I urge all members of the association to wholeheartedly and fully participate in all our activities. We sing to glorify the greatness of the Most High God, and through our music, we make a positive contribution to the Kingdom of God.” She said.
