NPP flagbearership race: Ken Agyapong supposed to step down long time – Sofo Kyiri Abosom

The founder and Leader of the Ghana Union Movement party, Christian Kwabena Andrews popularly known as “Osofo Kyiri Abosom”  has said the former Member of Parliament for Assin Central and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate aspirant, Ken Ohene Agyapong should step down from the flagbearship race.

According to Kyiri Abosom, Kennedy Aggyapong’s previous utterances caused the party in the 2024 elections.

He believes someone who has threatened to bring the party down before does not qualify to lead the party.

“For me, Ken Agyapong supposed to step down from the flagbearership race by now because he is the one who came out and insulted the NPP, he told us that he has regretted he joined the NPP, he told us the NPP leaders has loot the country’s money and threatened to run the party down. He also threatened to expose the party on how they won the 2020 elections so such a person can not be a leader.” Kyiri Abosom stated.

The pastor cum politician suggested that the party should fully support Dr. Bawumia who led the party for the 2024 elections and do their homework well to increase their votes in the next elections.

According to him, the chances of Bawumia to win the 2028 elections for the NPP is higher than any other candidate.

“Both Dr. Bawmia and Ken Agyapong have gone to the election before. But in my opinion I wish they should let Dr. Bawumia went for the second time. It is important if Dr. Bawumia comes again and the party works hard to improve his percentage in the 2028 elections.” He said in an audio.

“We should ensure that whatever we are doing is based on democracy, no one should try to push for the removal of any executive from his position and bring his followers to occupy that position for his personal interest.” He added.
