The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has arrested former Commissioner-General of GRA, Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, former Commissioner of Customs, now General Manager at SML, Isaac Crentsil and former Technical Advisor at GRA, now Managing Director of SML, Christian Tetteh Sottie over SML contracts.
According to the OSP, the arrest is in connection with suspected corruption and related offences linked to revenue assurance contracts between GRA and SML.
The three suspects have been detained after failing to meet bail conditions.
“These three were detained lastnight after failing to meet bail conditions.” The OSP announced in a statement.
“The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has arrested several current and former officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), and the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) in connection with suspected corruption and related offences linked to revenue assurance contracts between GRA and SML.” OSP added.

The Special Prosecutor stated that investigation is underway to examine the legality, procurement process, and financial impact of the contracts awarded to SML
“The OSP’s investigation is examining the legality, procurement process, and financial impact of the contracts awarded to SML, including the company’s claims of generating significant revenue savings for the state.”
Meanwhile, the OSP has granted four other persons who were also arrested for the same offenses bail.
“Arrested and Granted Bail: • Evans Adusei – CEO of SML • Philip Mensah – Former Deputy Commissioner (Legal) at GRA, now Legal Consultant to SML • Kofi Nti – Former Commissioner-General of GRA • Joseph Kuruk and Faustina Adjorkor – Officials of the Public Procurement Authority.” The statement added.
