Sarkodie is the best of all time but Medikal is my favorite rapper – Shatta Wale

 

‘On God’ hitmaker has distinguished between two Ghanaian rappers, Michael Owusu Addo, known professionally as Sarkodie and Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal.

According to the dancehall artist, Sarkodie is the best of all time in rap music but his favorite rapper is Medikal.

“Currently, Medikal is my favorite rapper but I will give the best of all time to Sarkodie. Medikal music is for Gen Z.” He told U.S based Ghanaian fashion critic Firestick.

Adding that Sarkodie has been long, consistent, and influential in the industry but Medikal can succeed Sarkodie hands down.

The dancehall star indicated many young Ghanaians are now learning from Medikal.

“Sarkodie has been consistent, long in the industry and one of the most influential rappers. Sarkodie stood for our generation.  But MDK can succeed Sarkodie hands down, what he is doing is what most of the boys are doing now. That is the truth, the way MDK is rapping that is what plenty of boys rap.” He stated.

Shatta Wale said he likes rap music and has observed that Medikal knows the commercial market of doing music. According to him, Medikal can be compared with Lil Baby, Central Cee.

“I can confidently tell you that Medikal is at the same level with Lil Baby just that we are in Ghana so sometimes he has to come down with local terms. The best rapper who understands the business is Medikal” Shatta Wale said.

Sarkodie has been classified as one of Africa’s best rappers. His consistency and hard work in rap music accolade him with the ‘Landlord’.
