Ghanaian musician, Kwame Nsiah-Apau also known as Okyeame Kwame has revealed that the next on his agenda to achieve before leaving on earth is to lecturer at one of the Universities in Ghana.
He said teaching is the second professional job he loves aside from music and so he is currently preparing himself for that battle.
Speaking in an interview with George Quaye on Joy Prime’s Prime Time Show monitored by Elvisanokyenews.net Okyeame Kwame indicated that he loves interacting with people and impacting knowledge.
“Music is my first love, but if not for music I will be a teacher. In fact, when I finished my A-level I went to teach at Meduma. I really loved it, I love interacting with people, I love impacting knowledge, I love preparing to go and impact knowledge.” The rap icon stated.
Okyeame Kwame who is currently working on his PhD stated that among other courses he wants to teach are psychology, sociology, philosophy—or even the philosophy of African music.
“Even though I am still a musician, I am still going to be a teacher because I think by the end of my life, I will be teaching in one of the Universities. I will teach maybe psychology, sociology, philosophy—or even the philosophy of African music. I will definitely end up as a teacher.” He revealed.
Adding that becoming a teacher is to fulfil a promise he made to his late father who earlier opposed his music career and asked him to go to school.
“I have completed two Master’s degrees and currently I am pursuing my PhD. I remember before I became a rapper, my father was not in support of what I was doing so we were fighting. After he witnessed one of my performances, he promised me that no matter how far I will go with the rap I will still go to school. So his voice is always in my head. I want to do it for my father and also myself. The highlife legend stated.
