The story of French professional player Jean-Pierre Adams shocked many people, especially sports fans.
The Nîmes, Nice and Paris Saint-Germain player met his untimely dea.th after his knee surgery went wrong and spent 39 years in a coma.
He got injured and was later sent to Édouard Herriot Hospital but unfortunately all the experienced doctors were on strike.
“Jean-Pierre Adams was approaching the twilight of his career in 1982 and it was in march in that year where he got injured in his knees during a training session and was sent to the Édouard Herriot Hospital in Lyon for surgery. “Due to that incident he was supervised by a trainee doctor who later said the task was beyond his control, between the anesthetic and the trainee, a lot of mistakes occurred which resulted in cardiac arrest and brain damage and he eventually went into a coma for 39 years.” He explained.
According to a report, “The France International was later discharged from the hospital still unconscious after fifteen (15) months. His wife Bernadette Adams took care of him until he die.d in 2021.”
