Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah celebrates Hajj pilgrims, reaffirms strong ties with Techiman Muslim community

Former Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, has expressed deep admiration and respect for Islam.

According to him, he has a longstanding relationship with the Muslim community in Techiman South and beyond.

Speaking in an interview with our reporter, the Member of Parliament for Techiman South acknowledged the significance of Hajj, one of the Five Pillars of Islam and shared heartfelt sentiments for those who are unable to afford the pilgrimage.

Hon. Korsah seized the opportunity to congratulate those who successfully participated in this year’s Hajj pilgrimage and offered prayers for others to have the opportunity in the future.

“It is the prayer and hope of all Muslims to visit Mecca, as it is one of the Five Pillars of Islam—the core practices of the Islamic faith. However, due to financial constraints, not all Muslims get the opportunity to visit the Holy Land. It is therefore my sincere prayer that all Muslims, especially those in Techiman South, will one day have the opportunity to partake in Hajj.

“I congratulate all those who were able to participate in this year’s Hajj, as it is not easy to fulfill that pillar of Islam. I pray that Allah paves the way for others to also visit the Holy Land in the years ahead.” He said.

He further explained that, despite being a Christian, he shares a strong bond with the Muslim community. He noted that he was the first Member of Parliament to collaborate with the Muslim fraternity in Techiman to help clean the Muslim cemetery, a gesture that earned him the admiration of many.

“Although I am a Christian, I greatly admire Islam and have a very cordial relationship with Muslims not only in Techiman South but across the country. I am proud to be the first Member of Parliament to collaborate with the Muslim fraternity in Techiman to help clean the Muslim cemetery.

The legislator also explained that he has donated a pickup truck to the Muslim community to assist in transporting deceased persons to the cemetery for proper burial. In addition, he has sponsored many Muslims to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage and provided a motorcycle to support local Imams who travel to various communities to share the teachings of Islam.

“I have donated a pickup truck to the Techiman Muslim community to transport their deceased to the cemetery for proper burial. I have supported many Muslims in Techiman to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage. Additionally, I have donated a motorcycle to the Techiman Muslim community to assist Imams in reaching various communities to share the word of Allah.
