Classroom should be a place of growth not trauma – Teacher told

 

Renowned Educationist, Eric Ɔpanyin Wireko has urged Teachers to adhere to the moral ethics governing the educational system.

He said the role of a teacher is very important and goes beyond teaching and learning.

According to him, teachers are the first role models of every student and for that matter teachers should focus on what is considered good behaviour especially in the classroom.

The concerned teacher indicated that classroom is a place of growth not a disturbing experience

“You’re not just teaching a subject; you’re shaping a soul. Let the classroom be a place of growth, not trauma.” He said in his recent article.

Ɔpanyin Wireko lamented how some unscrupulous teachers take advantage of young female students who are in classroom to acquire knowledge.

He stressed that many young girls are vulnerable and some are on the streets due to this bad behavior some teachers exhibit.

“Many girls are walking around today broken, hiding pain, and blaming themselves because of teachers who exploited them.” He lamented.

He is of the view that most female students who are victims in this circumstance did not fall into that situation by their own interest.

“Let me say this loud and clear: If a girl student gets bold enough to come close, it’s because you’ve already given her the signal. Weak boundaries are an invitation to destruction.” Part of his article said.

“You’re gifted, admired, and passionate about your work. Many girls in your class may have crushes on you, but their admiration is not permission, their smiles are not invitations, and their boldness is not maturity. They’re still children, vulnerable, and figuring out their emotions. When you cross that sacred line, you harm them, killing their confidence, future, and right to grow up whole and safe.” He stressed.

A lot of institutions have recorded this behavior which did not end well for the students.
