Ahafo Ano North Municipal Education Director urges teachers to sustain early morning reading sessions

The Ahafo Ano North Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Grace Oppong Agyapong, has called on teachers across the municipality to continue implementing early morning reading sessions to improve pupils’ reading skills and comprehension.

According to Grace Oppong Agyapong, the initiative is crucial in helping pupils develop strong literacy foundations, which will greatly benefit them academically, especially as they prepare for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

She made these remarks during the Early Grade Reading Challenge 2025, organized by the Ahafo Ano North Municipal Education Directorate at Tepa. The event brought together pupils from Basic 1, 2, and 3 classes to showcase their reading abilities and foster a love for reading among young learners.

At the end of the competition, participants were presented with prizes and certificates to recognize their efforts and encourage continuous improvement in their reading skills.
