Ghanaian media personality, women’s advocate and voice artist, Berla Addardey Mundi has chastised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the violence incidents and vote intimidation in the just ended Ablekuma North election rerun.
Several violence and intimidation occurred during the elections. Currently, former NPP Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency who also served as the Minister of Special Development Initiatives, Mavis Hawa Koomson has been hospitalized as a result of the violence incidence that erupted in the election.
Reacting to the incidents, Ber Mundi stated that the NDC is repeating the same thing they condemned the NPP during their regime.
According to her, Ghanaians cannot believe in the NDC.
“You condemn the Npp for unleashing thugs on people during elections only to repeat the same thing? And you want Ghanaians to believe you are any better? It’s an election, not a war zone.” She posted on X.
He called for the arrest and prosecution of the thugs who caused the violence.
“If you dont agree with someone’s action or presence, you don’t go beating the person up! These thugs should be arrested and prosecuted!” She added.
Meanwhile, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma North won the rerun with 34,090 votes while the NPP’s Akua Afriyie polled 33,881 votes.
