Politicians Are Responsible for Election Violence – Minister OJ

Popular Ghanaian gospel musician Minister OJ has stated that politicians are the primary cause of violence during elections and must take responsibility to address the issue.

Speaking in an interview on United Showbiz on July 12, 2025, Minister OJ explained that politicians often manipulate citizens for their own selfish gains, which he believes is the root cause of the increasing violence seen during election periods.

His comments follow a series of violent incidents involving journalists, parliamentary candidates, and party executives at the ongoing elections in the Ablekuma North Constituency on July 11, 2025.

He urged Ghanaians to resist the influence of politicians who, according to him, do not genuinely work with the people but rather exploit them for power.

“They do not work with people but will rather convince, confuse, and use you. Videos circulating are proof of what I’m saying,” he said.

“If Ghanaians stop listening to them and following them around, all these will stop,” he added.
