In a surprising revelation, gospel singer Cee of Mentor fame has confirmed that she is no longer married. She and her husband have officially parted ways.
Speaking openly, Cee clarified that her decision to divorce was not influenced by any spiritual direction. Unlike some gospel musicians who claim God told them to walk out of their marriages, she says her choice was purely personal.
“I was married to a pastor, but at a point, things just weren’t working. I left because of certain issues, and my husband knows exactly what I’m referring to. I didn’t hear any voice from God asking me to divorce him. It was my own decision. I couldn’t endure it anymore,” she stated.
Cee also shed light on why many female gospel musicians tend to marry pastors. According to her, the assumption is that being in the same spiritual field makes it easier to support each other.
“We marry pastors because we’re all doing the same work, spreading the word of God. So naturally, we expect them to understand our calling and support us spiritually. But it doesn’t always turn out that way. I’ve experienced it myself,” she added.
Interestingly, Cee admitted she never wanted to marry a pastor in the first place, yet she eventually did.
