Media personality Ola Michael has raised serious concerns about the rise in violence across the country, especially during election periods.
He warned that Ghana’s democracy is at risk if these acts are not brought under control.
His remarks follow the recent violent incidents involving politicians and journalists during the Ablekuma North parliamentary re-election.
Ola specifically pointed to the assault on former Awutu Senya East MP Hawa Koomson as an alarming example.
“Look at the video. She was standing there, and someone jumped on her like Spider-Man. She wasn’t alone — other people were around. So why was she the target?” he questioned.
He also condemned certain political figures for stoking tensions.
“Some people from the NPP are saying this act will be repaid when they return to power,” he said.
Ola Michael warned that if these violent trends continue, there could be serious consequences, including a threat to democratic rule and the possibility of military intervention.
“I think we should get to a point where we say, enough is enough,” he emphasized.
He called on all political parties to take responsibility and work to end electoral violence.
Ola Michael’s comments have since sparked widespread public discussion and drawn attention from political leaders.
