A Founding Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has issued a stern warning to the party’s leadership, stating that if urgent steps are not taken, the NPP could face disintegration under its current national executives.
In a candid critique, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe described the present crop of national executives as “simply incompetent,” expressing grave concern about the direction of the party.
“If we are not careful, the party will be dismembered. That’s my fear. I have not been happy with the present national executive we have.They are not simply incompetent.”
He further cautioned against the growing trend of wealth accumulation in politics, warning that it poses a serious threat to the integrity and survival of political institutions.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe stressed that the dangers of self-serving political leadership have been evident since the era of Kwame Nkrumah, urging his party to learn from the past.
“You see, politics is quite a different thing. I am a physician by profession, but I have interest in politics and in politics, if your first interest is to amass wealth, you will destroy yourself and destroy the party.
“We’ve seen this through the years, right down from the time of Kwame Nkrumah. We’ve seen it.”
