Confirmed: Nsoatreman FC dissolved; players asked to go home

Ghanaian professional football club based at Nsoatre in the Bono Region, Nsoatreman FC has been dissolved and the players have been asked to go home.

The Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the club, Gyempeh Kofi Joel in an interview with Sporty FM explained that the dissolution of the club has been necessary due to threat and troubling incidents that occurred during their matches against Asante Kotoko and Samartex.

This, according to him, is as a result of the death of Kumasi Asante Kotoko supporter, Nana Pooley.

“What happened in our game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko leading to the passing of Pooley is what actually brought us to this decision. We stated the safety of our players and the staff of the club in our release. We are receiving messages and comments that are not encouraging despite the court ruling and Police investigations that led to the declaration of one Briama as the main suspect.” He said.

“So the Board of Directors and the Leaders of the club decided that they can’t put the lives of innocent people into jeopardy so we have first withdrawn from all Football activities.” Kofi Joel added.

“What has happened I think there should be an abrogation of contract between the club and the players and the technical team as well. So I think the first step has been taken, that is withdrawing from the League so whatever is left there, the hierarchy of the club will meet and take it from there but as I am talking to you now the team has been dissolved, players have been asked to go home.” He announced.

According to him, the club will formally announce to the public and explain their next line of action.

“So we will look at the way forward and get back to the general public as to how they are going to handle it, whether the entire team is going to be dissolved or they are going to form an academy.” He said.

Meanwhile, the club has announced its withdrawal from the Ghana Premier League.
