Akwaboah has not paid me after I performed at his father’s funeral – DJ KA reveals

Media Personality and Dick Jockey, Kwadwo Adu widely known as DJ KA has revealed that Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr., known by his stage name Akwaboah Jnr has not paid him after working as Master of Ceremony for his father’s funeral.

According to him, even though they did not agree on a specific amount, Akwaboah has been unfair to him.

In his recent interview, DJ KA explained that “One day I received a call and the person asked me is this DJ KA and I said yes and he said it is me Akwaboah, and I said okay. So he (Akwaboah) told me that his father is dead and he has been told that I am good at these things so he wants me to be his MC. So I found it a great honour to receive such a call and fortunately, I stay in Pakyi and Akwaboah also stay in Trede so I called him when I arrived home.”

“So we met at a one hotel where some of the family members were gathered so when I went there they welcomed me nicely. He asked me how much would I charge and I said you are in the industry so when everything is done then he should give me something for my work. So I couldn’t give him a specific amount.” He said.

“When I was returning, his PA gave me Ghc200. So I went there early in the morning that day, at the time the body was lying in state till the afternoon when the funeral was held at heroes park. Later I found out that some people are also working as MC, when I tried to take the microphone, they refused so I called Akwaboah and told him that this is the situation so if they have hired someone else he should let me go.”

“But Akwaboah and his PA told me I should work because he personally assigned me. The following day, which was Sunday, I put on a different dress and went there again but the intimidation from the two MC’s continued so I told Akwaboah again but he said the same thing that he assigned me so I should do my work.”

“So after the program I waited for his call, but  no one called me from that Sunday to the following day which was Monday, and so on Tuesday, I personally, called him (Akwaboah) and said bro, and he told me he was in Accra so I will heard from him. For me I wasn’t expecting anything because of what the two MC’s did. But I didn’t hear from him till now.”
