Ghana is still under economic slavery after 68 years of Independence – CPP

Convention People’s Party (CPP) believe Ghana is still in slavery despite the country’s 68th Independence Anniversary.

According to the National Communications Director of the CPP, Osei Kofi Acquah, Ghana is still under economic slavery after 68 years and more work needs to be done to set the country free.

In his recent article, Osei Kofi Acquah stated that “68 years ago today the CPP and Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah changed your name and Destiny and prepared you for Greatness as a Nation but that Calculated ambition was killed by some Traitors and Enemies within. May I remind you mother Ghana that you still have one Independence Unachieved? Yes you do, and that is ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE!” He said.

He believes that at 68 years, if Ghana still needs to seek an International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout to survive then the country is still under control by some coronial masters.

“For a truly Independent country does not go to other countries with a cup in hand begging for alms and aid to survive. For a Truly Independent country does not sleep in an Overwhelming “POOL OF DEBT” to countries which do not possess a quarter of its rich Natural Resources and human Capacity.” He wrote.

Osei Kofi also lamented the destruction of water bodies and forest reserves by illegal mining activities.

“Mother Ghana most of your river bodies which quenches the thirst of your Citizens have been polluted and cannot be consumed anymore. This destruction has been caused by some foreign Nationals who have and still guide their Natural Resources particularly their water resources JEALOUSY and the sad part of the whole thing is that it is your own Children and Descendants who aides these foreigners to destroy the Natural Resources you have saved for us all these years.” He added.

“These foreigners and your treacherous descendants say you have hidden your gold and diamonds in your rivers, lakes and lagoons, streams etc. and so they are destroying them in order to retrieve them. Now they have killed all the aquatic creatures in these rivers, lakes, lagoons etc and destroyed their beautiful aquarium which itself could have raked in millions of revenue through Tourism.” The CPP National Communications Director lamented.
