The Founder and Leader of Heaven Way Church, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa has been jailed 15 years by the Circuit Court in Accra presided over by Justice Evelyn Amoah.
Agradaa was convicted for charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretenses.
Justice Evelyn Amoah ordered the former fetish priestess now turned televangelist to go for a pregnancy test. The test proved that Agradaa is not pregnant so she begins her 15 years sentences with hard labour immediately.
It would be recalled that in October, 2022, the Ghana Police Service arrested Agradaa following scam allegations leveled against her for claiming she could double money for people spiritually.
“The Police have arrested Patricia Asiedua alias Nana Agradaa following allegations of a money doubling scam leveled against her by members of the public. The suspect is currently assisting Police investigations.” Police said in a statement.
“Anyone who is a victim of the alleged money doubling scam should report to the Accra Regional Police Command for further action to assist investigation.” The police added.
“The Police have commenced investigation into an alleged money doubling scam allegedly perpetrated against some members of the Heaven Way Church in Weija, Accra, by the founder of the church Patricia Asiedua. The investigation was initiated following reports that have come to the attention of the Police on the matter”, Another statement from the Ghana Police Service on Saturday, October 8, 2022, said.
Agradaa’s jail term has sparked many reactions as many described it as good news.
Many people have raised concerns about people practicing the same money doubling especially on television stations.
