Educational infrastructure in the Salaga-South constituency is set for a major facelift following renewed efforts by government and local authorities to improve learning conditions across all levels.
The contractor awarded the project to construct the new Salaga Islamic Junior High School (JHS) has visited the site in the company of the Member of Parliament for Salaga-South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kassim Yazid Rabiu.
The contractor confirmed that all contractual processes for the Islamic JHS project have been completed and assured both the MP and the MCE that construction will begin shortly. He pledged to execute the project within the stipulated timeframe and according to the highest construction standards.
During the inspection, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah expressed concern about the weak and deplorable state of the Salaga Islamic Primary School building. She hinted at plans to engage the Minister of Education to explore the possibility of including the primary school in the ongoing project, so both facilities can be redeveloped together to ensure continuity and safety for learners.

In a related development, two-storey dormitory blocks are also expected to be constructed for Salaga Senior High School and Salaga T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School. These facilities are designed to reduce the accommodation challenges currently confronting students in both institutions.
The Salaga-South constituency continues to benefit from the government’s commitment to expanding educational access and infrastructure. Residents have expressed appreciation to the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, for his keen interest in the area’s development, and to Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah for her tireless advocacy and dedication to improving the quality of education in the constituency.
