Renowned Marriage Counselor, Rev Charlotte Oduro has advised unmarried men not to rush into marriage if they don’t have money.
According to her, men who wish to get married should establish themselves in order to cater for their family after marriage because settling down with a woman in a financial crisis will create a huge problem in the marriage in the future.
Speaking to a congregation at the Assembly of God Church, Charlotte Oduro categorically stated that it is not true that a man can marry if he doesn’t have money.
“If you don’t have money, don’t get married. At least you have to be a bit settled, like where you will sleep, something that allows you to take care of your family. When someone tells you that you can marry even if you don’t have anything it is not true. Every man is the head of the family so must be established before bringing a woman into your life,” She stated.
The Marriage Counselor stressed that no one should be deceived by the ‘I love you’ people claim.
She indicated that it is only God who can love and die for someone not a human being. According to her, people only show love when things are going well.
“People say I love you, I would die for you, it is not true. The only one who can die for you is Jesus. That is why the Bible says that if a Man puts his trust in another man, let him be cursed. It is only God that can love, the Bible said love is not selfish, so when you love somebody, you don’t care what you sacrifice for the person. You don’t love when things are okay.” Charlotte Oduro stated.
“You love when things are good or bad…….Can you cover your lover? When you are at a point where everything is okay, you love each other, but when the troubles come that is where you will know if he loves you or not” She added.
