Founder and leader of the Rescue the Perishing Evangelism Team, Evangelist Joseph Yaw Frimpong, has called on all Ghanaians regardless of political affiliation to actively participate in the newly declared National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on July 1st.
This comes after President John Mahama announced that July 1st, previously observed as Republic Day, will now be marked as a national day dedicated to prayer, thanksgiving, and spiritual reflection. The President made the declaration during the inauguration of the planning committee for the event, emphasizing that Ghana’s peace, stability, and unity must not be taken for granted.
In an exclusive interview with Elvisanokyenews.net, Evangelist Joseph Yaw Frimpong described the initiative as “commendable” and expressed his delight at the news.
He urged the public to take part in the event wholeheartedly, stressing that it should be free from political influences.
“The President’s initiative to declare July 1st as a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is a commendable one, and I was truly delighted when I heard the news.
“As it is written in the book of Thessalonians, we should give thanks to God in all circumstances. Indeed, it is by the grace and mercies of God that we have come this far as a nation.
“I encourage everyone to fully participate in this Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving. It should be free from any political agenda. Prayer is a powerful act of gratitude to God for His blessings in our lives, and it also opens the door to new opportunities and greater blessings for our country.” He said.
Evangelist Joseph Yaw Frimpong seized the opportunity to emphasize the importance of complementing prayer with personal responsibility and hard work, especially among the youth. He admonished them to desist from the use of illicit drugs and other social vices for the betterment of their lives.
“While we pray for the progress of the nation, we must also commit ourselves to hard work and stay away from unproductive activities. I urge the youth, in particular, to avoid drug abuse and engage in meaningful ventures. Prayer alone, without effort, will not yield results. If we pray throughout the year but remain idle, we will not witness the full benefits of our prayers.” He stated.
