Father of late 15-year-old girl accuses St. Rose SHS for negligence, threatens legal action

Mark Kwadjo Gyemerah-Boateng, the father of a 15-year-old female student of St. Rose’s Senior High School in Akwatia in the Eastern Region has threatened legal action against the school over the death of his daughter.

Mr. Gyemerah-Boateng alleged that his daughter, Beatrice Akua Gyamerah-Boateng died due to negligence.

3news.com reports say Mr. Gyemerah-Boateng alleged that the school authorities denied her late daughter the opportunity to seek medical attention despite several complaints of sickness.

According to reports, the late Home Economist student was kept on campus for four days until her condition became aggravated.

Reports alleged that Beatrice Akua Gyamerah-Boateng collapsed on the fourth day and was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

“I believe that my daughter died because of their negligence. I am going to summon the school’s administration to come and answer. I need to report the case to the police, get the extract and copy all the educational institutes, Ghana Education Service and the education minister,”Mr. Gyemerah-Boateng reportedly said.

Meanwhile, the school has denied the allegation.
