The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, has warned members of the party and appointees of the ruling government whose intentions are to make money and acquire properties for themselves.
According to him, people are just rushing to use the opportunity they have in government to enrich themselves but this administration is not going to tolerate that.
He said owing properties or making money is not wrong but using the state funds to enrich yourself is what the NDC is against and that anybody who wants to join the party for their selfish interest should consider joining the largest opposition the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“I am not saying it is wrong to have a property, but I’m saying if your motive and your reason for being a member of this party is what you can get, then you are in the wrong party. Look for the NPP, that is your party,” he said. Fiifi Kwetey sent this warning when addressing party members.
The NDC Secretary- General lamented how people want to get luxurious things within a shortest possible time because they are in government when someone who has worked for many years can not get that.
According to him, governance is a shared responsibility to ensure that the economy of the country is in a good position and its citizens are benefiting from what they deserve.
“They are in a hurry, they are in a hurry to acquire properties that people have worked for over 30 years and they don’t have. They are in a hurry to drive vehicles that people who have worked as ministers don’t have. Because they think joining this party is an opportunity to be able to make money and own properties for themselves.”
