Guru Said I’d Flop After Leaving Lynx – Kuami Eugene Fires Back

Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene has spoken out about comments made by rapper Guru, who once claimed that his career would fail after parting ways with Lynx Entertainment.

During an interview on Joy Entertainment with Doreen Avio, Kuami Eugene confirmed that there had been long-standing tension between him and Guru. However, he denied holding any personal grudge especially now that Guru serves as the President of the University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (SRC).

“Guru made a comment about me flopping after Lynx, but he’s a president now,” Kuami Eugene said. “I respect that, and for that reason, I won’t say much about Guru.”

The rift between the two artists dates back several years, when Guru publicly criticized Kuami Eugene and other Lynx Entertainment signees over issues related to collaborations and alleged industry gatekeeping.

Despite the controversy, Kuami Eugene has continued to drop hit songs and perform on major stages since leaving Lynx Entertainment, proving critics wrong and strengthening his brand.

He has now confirmed that he is officially no longer signed to Lynx Entertainment, something that had long been rumored but was recently affirmed by both parties.

The CEO of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah, did not mention Kuami Eugene’s name when listing current artists under the label, indirectly confirming the singer’s departure. Kuami later addressed it directly in an interview.

“I had to tick some boxes before leaving Lynx Entertainment. I think I’m the only artiste who got a send-off party after exiting the label,” he said. “I’m very happy I got the blessings of my boss.”
