The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has extended her unwavering support to the Salaga T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (AMASS) with a GH¢20,000 donation to aid their preparation and participation in the ongoing 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) in Accra.
The cheque was presented on behalf of the MP by the Salaga South Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Chairman Abotsi, together with Ing. Abdul Nasser Adam.
Speaking during the presentation, Chairman Abotsi explained that the MP’s gesture was to help the school meet some of its logistical and preparatory expenses for the national competition. He noted that Hon. Hajia Zuwera remains deeply committed to promoting educational excellence and youth empowerment across the constituency.
Ing. Abdul Nasser Adam commended the school for their impressive qualification to the national stage, describing it as a proud moment for the constituency. He revealed that the MP is passionate about investing in science, mathematics, and ICT education, and is working through partnerships with government agencies and development organizations to advance these fields. He further hinted that Hon. Hajia Zuwera plans to introduce annual inter-school quiz competitions among the two senior high schools in the constituency to nurture academic competitiveness and innovation.
Receiving the cheque, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Issahaku A. Jahanfo, expressed profound appreciation to the MP for her swift and thoughtful response to the school’s appeal. He disclosed that the school’s total budget for the competition stood at GH¢25,000, and the MP’s support had covered 80% of their expenditure—a huge relief that would inspire both teachers and students to perform exceptionally.
Mr. Jahanfo described the intervention as a testament to Hon. Hajia Zuwera’s genuine dedication to improving the standard of education in Salaga South and supporting young people to reach their full potential.
This latest support adds to the MP’s growing record of educational and youth development initiatives, reaffirming her vision to make quality education accessible and impactful for all learners in the Salaga South Constituency.
