I Had to Tick Some Boxes First Before Leaving Lynx – Kuami Eugene Opens Up

The Ghanaian Highlife and Afrobeats singer Kuami Eugene has finally spoken about why he made the bold decision to part ways with Lynx Entertainment.

The ‘Angela’ hitmaker stated that it was a tough decision to make.

In an interview on Hitz FM, he shared his reasons for embarking on a new journey, after rising to fame under the label.

He explained that leaving the label wasn’t too difficult because “he wanted to tick some boxes first.”

“Leaving Lynx wasn’t difficult, I felt I had laid my dues and only had to tick some few boxes to make things right and leave “

Kuami further remarked that he needed a solid management team and a major distribution company to help push him forward.

This, he said, is why he still has his playlist even after leaving Lynx.

I needed a major distribution company behind my back, Lynx is a record label hence has divided attention but getting a major record label and a solid team, on my side I knew would change a lot of stuffs”.

He stated that before exiting, he had to get certain things in place, such as building a strong team and securing the right support structures.

Despite parting ways with Lynx Entertainment, Kuami Eugene said the bond remains strong proving that some exits can be peaceful, graceful, and built on mutual respect.

Because of this, he shared that he might be the first artist to have had a send-off party organized by CEO Richie Mensah something he deeply appreciates, expressing profound gratitude for Richie’s blessings and support before his departure from the label.

“I made sure I exited well that’s why I think am the first artiste to leave Lynx Entertainment and get a send-off party to be organized for me. Richie gave me his blessings and I really appreciate what he did for me”
