Im retiring from law or politics “until the bone is completely rotten”

Former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Worsemao Armah Blay, has declared that he has no intentions of retiring from either law or politics.

According to him, he is dedicated to both professions and will only retire when his bones are ‘rotten.’ Speaking in an interview, Mr. Blay stated that his passion for law and politics remains strong, and he intends to continue contributing for as long as his strength allows.”

He revealed that despite no longer holding a formal political office, he continues to engage in legal work.

“I always used to quote what the immediate past president of this country once said: There are two professions, law and politics, where you don’t retire. You stay in them as long as your breath can carry you.

“Unless you personally decide that you’ve had enough and choose to pack your bags, you keep going. As you can see, this is still my office. I’m reading two law books right now. I still advise from time to time, pack up my blue bag, and go to court.” He stated

The former NPP National Chairman continued, “It’s a profession you stay in until your bones can no longer carry you. I remember my uncle, a very respected lawyer. Even after he was removed from the Supreme Court, he continued practicing law. He went to court regularly until he became ill and eventually passed away.

“So now, once in a while, I still go to court not because anyone forces me to, but because I love it. Aside from politics, it’s what I know best.”
