The Kumasi-based artist is one of the popular artists Ghana has had in recent time. His popularity came as a shock to many but fans of music believe in his works.
The love of King Paluta’s songs and his music career became a topic of discussion after the artist joined former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to campaign prior to the 2024 election with his ‘Makoma’ song.
King Paluta also petitioned Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) board after ‘Makoma’ song missed nomination in all the categories.
“We humbly write to your honorable board to demand some explanations in connection with the snub of Makoma by King Paluta, a song we duly submitted for consideration, which we believe remains Ghana’s most popular song released within the year under review, generating the most excitement among music lovers to date.” King Paluta Management said in the petition.”
“We believe in the competence of the TGMA board and trust that a convincing reason be issued to our team, music enthusiasts and general public on this unpopular decision of the board. We are confident that “MAKOMA” breaches no moral or ethical requirement of the board and will be ready to engage for possible consideration of the song in the categories submitted for earlier.”
